So yesterday I hung out with the Irish guy I met on the World Cup final night, he's cute...ha mum you'd make fun of me, he's a shortie! He's taller than me but still short in comparison to other guys! I asked him if he wanted to go grab a pint, he said sure I can come collect you and we'll go hang out!? haha I laughed, he'll come collect me... I felt a little awkward with that statement but I figured it was just another word the Irish use that we wouldn't. So he collected Erin and I and we went to the Comet. It was the first time I've been in a European car, besides taxis but I haven't sat in the front passenger seat of a taxi. We both told him that it was our first time and he laughed and said you're going to be scared. He was right, he wasn't a bad driver but he pulled away and there were two cars approaching us (on proper side of the road) and I got the weirdest feeling. I laughed and said wow I almost told you to go on the right side of the road. And it was a very weird feeling to not have steering wheel in front of me. But we said there and he didn't drink since he was driving...how responsible...but some of his friends showed up and we all just sat around talking. It was nice, I wouldn't mind seeing him again! So I'll be sure to let you know if I see him again.
Katie and I leave tonight for Cambridge, England. Rob's friend is picking us up from the airport since he has his first flying mission since being a pilot, he's going to Greece, I'm jealous. We're staying at his other friend's house, which is nice since we'll have our own room and a comfy bed for once! Then we decided since Rob won't be able to hang out on friday we are going to take a train into London for the day, and see Platform 9 & 3/4 from Harry Potter, that is a request from Katie. Then go to the British Museum, it's free and has things like the Rosetta Stone HOW AWESOME IS THAT!!! Then of course Buckingham Palace, we're going to try to get there at 11:30 for the changing of the guard. Then Big Ben, and the London Eye. Friday will be full for us. I'm excited, since all of those things are free to do!
Then Nate, Rob's friend that is picking us up from the airport said we need to bring fancy sundresses because there is a horse race on saturday. So I brought one, but Katie will have to get one...that'll be neat, they said it's like the Kentucky Derby but English style! So that should be cool. There are a few things I want to see in Cambridge, like the college that Charles Darwin when to and the the college that Sir Issac Newton went to, as well as the Grasshopper clock. If you don't know what that is search it! http://www.visitcambridge.org/VisitCambridge/Details.aspx?p=22&ix=211&pid=1&prcid=54&ppid=1119
So since I'll be in England come midnight tonight I won't be able to update this until Sunday! So I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Miss you all!
Cheers! :)
