Free dooonut this morning :)

Hey all,

So sorry I've been slacking on updating this, it's because the internet at my apartment gets slow at night since everyone comes home from work and uses it! But none the less I know I need to do better at this to one keep you all updated and two because I would like a record of what I saw and did.

So lots has happened.  My friend in the USAF Rob and his friend George came across the pond from England to visit me this last weekend, and it was a lot of fun!!!  They got in saturday morning and lets just say I had a hard time getting up to meet them at the airport because the ladies and I went out the night before...good time...but made it to the airport.  We got back to the apartment and it was only about 10 in the morning but we decided to walk down to the liquor store and get some supplies for the night! If any of you know what Edward 40 hands is then just wait for that post! haha We found some Bulmers that are 40s for really cheap!

That day was also the 4th of July bbq the program put on for us, so we ate burgers (which didn't taste like american burgers ha) and drank and had fun!

The girls and I decided to take the guys to Howth, which they enjoyed, it was a nice day and we were able to walk around on the beach!  Ha but we all pretty much slept on the train ride back.  So when we got back to the apartment we took a power nap to gear up for the night!

We woke up, started pre-gaming again and then headed to the city.  The bus ride down to the city centre was the only ride that we have been yelled at for being loud americans...kinda sucked but oh well, we just brushed it off and kept going.

We took them to the Temple Bar area since they had never been there before, and from there just bar-hopped.  Lets just say without saying all of the details that it was an epic night!  We had a lot of fun.

The next day we woke up and I took the guys to the Guinness Storehouse and the girls went to a hurling match, which I'm kinda jealous I didn't go because it looked pretty sweet!  If you don't know what hurling is, google it!

Then we walked around and found Christ Church, tooks some pictures, then stumbled upon this fabulous pub where we ate the best food I've had yet!  It's called the Hairy Lemon, and the food was AWESOME and the service was great too!  Oh and I asked our waiter what 'brown sauce' was and he said it's a tangy bbq sauce, so we tried it and now I'm hooked!  It's delicious, I'm going to have to stock up and bring some home with me!

Then we just walked around some more and headed back to the apartment and just hung out with Katie the rest of the night.

I played hookie from work on monday (oops, but it's okay) and took the guys to the Jameson distillery which was cool!  Glad they wanted to go because the girls didn't and I probably wouldn't have by myself.  We took the tour and then got our free shot of Jameson and the guys volunteered to be whiskey taste testers.  They needed more volunteers so I said why not!  We tasted a sotch whiskey, jameson, and an american whiskey...can you guess which one....Jack Daniels.  I'm not a fan of whiskey but I liked the Jameson, definitely not the sotch one or the Jack!  When we left the distillery the guys and I were feeling pretty good!

So we walked down the street to The Brazen Head for some lunch, had a pint and a delicious chicken sandwich!  I had to put some brown sauce on my sandwich...ohhh soooo goooooood! :)

Then we walked back to the bus and by that time they had to go back to the airport, so I walked them to the bus stop and made sure they got on the right bus and then went back home!

Monday night was also when my friends boyfriend was coming into town.  Tim and his two friends are backpacking through Europe and Dublin is one of their stops.  I met up with them last night for a pint and Katie met up with us too after she got off work.  They asked me a bunch of questions on what it's been like here and one thing that came up was the fact that the girls have to be aggressive here with the men, not like in America where the men approach the women.  So we went and had dinner at the Hairy Lemon and then walked across the street to a sports pub to watch the Uruguay and Netherlands match.  The guys were so nice that they paid for our dinner and all the drinks last night....even though I tried MULTIPLE times to pay for stuff...ha I think they felt bad that I've been buying the irish men drinks instead of them buying me drinks like what we're used to!  Oh well, had a good night, they want us to go out again tonight...we'll see about that! ha

Other than that not much else has happened, going to Galway this weekend which I'm SUPER excited for!  It'll be nice to get out and see more of the countryside.  I think on friday (my day off) I'm going to walk around the city and go to St. Patricks Cathedral, or go to Trinity College and see the Book of Kells...which if you don't know what that is google it as well!  It's an original manuscript of the gospels in latin!  Said to be written around 800 by monks that took refuge after a Viking Raid!  So I definitely have to see that before I leave Ireland!  I think today at work since....I don't do anything...which is LAME, and my bosses don't even show up, I might map out what I'm going to do this Friday!!!

Alright, until next time, sorry no pictures, I'll post some later, I'm writing this at work again so I can't load any pictures!
