Mexican food and Phoenix Park

Erin, Jen, Amanda, Alyssa and I went to Phoenix Park today.  This park is the biggest in Europe, it's the home of the Irish President, the United States Official Ambassador and the home to a herd of Fallow Deer that were introduced by the Duke of Ormond.  We didn't see all of it, none of us brought our maps so we had no idea where we were in the park.  I'm going to have to go back and see more of it.

We did get to see the Department of Defense there, and the Courts of Criminal Justice.  But I want to see the residence of the US Ambassador, I looked it up and it looks awesome!

We also went to this mexican restaurant called Pablo Picante, everyone has told me this is the place to go for a burrito.  I was nervous at first since it was kind of our last resort for burritos in Dublin but luckily it was up to par for what I wanted.  Of course it wasn't the same but it was definitely tasty...I think I might have it for dinner tomorrow night too! :)

This is Wellington Monument in Phoenix Park, it says Asia and Europe, saved by thee, proclaim
Invincible in war thy deathless name,
Now round thy brow the civic oak we twine
That every earthly glory may be thine.
on one of the sides of it.  It was created as a testimonial to the Duke of Wellington.

This is Jen, me, and Alyssa with the Monument!

Pretty excited when I saw this, we passed by Ireland's department of defense, these men saluted the flag and then lowered it for the day!!!

These are what the houses look like, they aren't the bigger ones I was talking about in another post but at least it shows the different colored doors!!!
