Workin time...

Hey all,

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, not much has happened since Sunday.

I started my job and well to say the least it's not what I was expecting.  I haven't and might not do anything pertaining to Women's Studies or Irish women during my time here, which is disappointing.  I so far have and looks like will only be doing secretarial duties.  So I emailed the director of Eusa, the program I'm here through asking him how to do I approach my boss with ideas about what to do.  Because so far all I have been doing is copying and pasting emails from one contact list in an email to another, they have us doing this all week.  Which isn't consuming all of our time, that explains why I'm making a post while sitting in the office.

So I'm not that thrilled about it all right now, but I still am enjoying being in Ireland thats for sure.  I see something new each day on the bus ride to and from work, and yesterday before work I saw a Swan family feeding in the lake/pond thing at the campus I'm working on.  It was cute, I have a picture of it, just not at the moment.

I also finished reading my book I brought called "For One More Day" and it was wonderful.  I didn't cry reading it until this morning on the bus to work I hit the hardest part of the book.  It's about a mother son relationship through the son's perspective.  It's great and I'd recommend everyone read it, it makes you think twice about your relationship with your family and how you feel like they'll always be there but in an instant they can be gone.  Mum, you would really enjoy it.  It's by Mitch Albom. But before I move on let me just say that I'm extremely thankful for my family, and that they were the ones that gave me the opportunity to be where I am right now.  One part in the book says "But behind all your stories is always your mother's story, because hers is where yours begins."  I want to change that around and include my father, thank you mum and dad for starting your lives together and doing what you did so that I can have what I have now.  I am eternally grateful for you both! :) (ha mum don't cry)

Other than that not much has happened, hung out with the girls from my program last night, had a few drinks and went to bed.

This weekend we're going to Limerick, just a bus ride away and I'm excited to get out and see the countryside a bit.  Especially since Dublin is EXPENSIVE, ha if I stay in the city I might come back to the states broke!

I also might be going to the east coast tonight, which you can actually walk to from the city centre.  I might go with some people from the apartment complex to Howth I think it's called, but we'll see if they're all still up for it!

Okay well I should probably get back to the exciting day of copying and pasting emails...ha until next time

P.S.- it has yet to rain, today is the first day that it looks like it'll be a typical cloudy day in Ireland!  I'll take a picture later to show you all! :)
