On a side note before I get started, the picture of the bridge at the top of the blog, I finally walked across it!!!
We get to the city centre and get soooo lost that finally we had this map pulled out and this lady stopped us asking if we were lost. She pointed us in the right direction and we were on our way. All of this took place while we were walking around in dressy clothes for our interviews, which is normally fine but it was hot today and I was dying because I wore a sweater.
So we find a place to eat, find Katie's work then find my bus stop. I had to wait another hour for my bus stop, and I had to do it alone. All day I kept on thinking thank god for Ireland being an english speaking country, because if my first real experience outside the country was in a non-english speaking country it would have been SO hard.
I finally get on my bus, ask when I'll know it's my stop and take that bus twenty minutes south of the city centre. Looking outside the windows a lot of it reminded me of Cherry Creek area, it was cute, looked fancy and people drove fairly decent cars.
I got to the University that I'm interning at and the directions from my program that told me where to go were shit, so I eventually found a bathroom, freshened up and found where I was supposed to be.
But I was almost an hour early, so I sat next to this water fountain/pond thing that was so relaxing and soothing I almost fell asleep.
Had my interview, which went well, this place is super relaxed, I don't work on fridays and I don't have to go in until 10am and can leave around 4. So I think I'm going to get spoiled here! haha
Got on another bus back to the city centre to go to this dinner that the program planned, which was AWESOME! Such good food and while you ate an Irish Folklore person told stories, which were really neat.
They were about the history of the food, and the peasants and the fairies that the people used to/still believe in. And not like disney style fairies but the legit fairies that were darker and were feared. It was neat.
One of the fairies he talked about was the Pooka or Puca fairy, it was feared among all the people, believers and non-believers. He would do bad things to you if you encountered him. He was also used as a kind of a joke sometimes, such as the children would use him as an excuse; it wasn't me it was the pooka! I really like the stories that he told at the Brazen Head!
Then we took a bus back to the apartments and here I am now 12 hours later! :) The day started off SUPER stressful but ended quite nicely.

And for whatever reason it's not letting me post pictures on here so I'll do that later of what I saw yesterday!
You need to take a picture of yourself on the bridge!!
